This year's kids
The first sign of this year’s kids was on the 2nd of July when the doe was spotted with simply a movement behind her in the grass indicating the presence of a kid. There were then sightings of her with one kid then two and eventually we saw she had triplets. We believe this is the same doe which had triplets last year. We have been able to watch her all through the year and this patch is clearly hers and she successfully raised her triplets through the year- two does and one buck. One of the does picked up an injury somehow and lost the bottom of one of her forelegs. We wondered how she would survive as she looked very poor at times. However, contrary to received wisdom, the mature doe has not driven her off and she continues to be seen in the home patch of her mother.
